Our Children Ask the World of Us |
| | The recent mass shootings in Tucson sent waves of shock and grief through America. This tragedy calls us to dig deep for understanding and more positive choices.
How do we respond in ways that will make our world better? Some possibilities are:
~ a renewed exploration of how we view and treat those with whom we have differences
~ an increased awareness of what Jon Stewart calls "anonymous goodness" all around us, such as the ordinary people who took extraordinary action that day
~ looking anew at the kind of world we're creating for our children, nudged by the loss of Christina Taylor Green, a bright, hopeful 9-year-old, full of energy and promise
"I want to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as Christina imagined it. I want America to be as good as she imagined it. All of us - we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children's expectations." ~ President Barack Obama

Spotlight Pearl: Our Children Ask the World of Us |

Our first granddaughter Kayla became a Little Pearl when I, like most new parents and grandparents all over the world, fell in love in those earliest moments after her birth.
This nearly universal love for a newborn brings a heightened sense of responsibility and commitment to create a world that will nourish and support that new life ~ and, as our compassion expands, all life.

This is Kayla's webpage
Kayla is now 9, the same age as Christina Taylor Green. Here she is with her little sister Kira a month ago.
She represents ALL of our children. They depend on us ~ and on our choices ~ for the quality of their lives, present and future, for many generations to come.
What kind of world are we creating for them? |

Let's Create a Better World for Everyone |
"Good medicine -- these times are naturally full of grief, and even despair. Connecting with a PEARL is a way to "gift" ourselves with a moment of peace... and good medicine for healing. Thanks to all who are supporting this work." ~ Mary O
In good times and bad, what matters most is the love and connection we feel in our lives. If you feel uplifted by any of our "tiny films," we have done our job. This is the gift we offer ~ to you and to those you love. Thank you for helping us create and share these gifts!

Warmly,
Linda McLean
