SIERRA NEVADA WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2011
SNWMF 2011 has been recognized in the global arena by two publications.  On May 5th, the New York Times included the festival in its summer events preview stating "Dedicated to the notion of “conscious music,” which its organizers define as “music with a message of peace, unity and brotherhood,” the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival might be a balm of sorts for music fans in need  of an optimism boost."  And an online travel site based in the United Kingdom, Essential Travel cited SNWMF as one of the "Top 10 USA Festivals."

This year's lineup is now complete and single day tickets are available as are three-day festival tickets and camping passes. PATO BANTON : THE TRUTH REVEALED

A Pato Banton concert is an event not to be missed and an experience not to be forgotten.

Positive Vibrations abound with a beat to keep you on your dancing feet, while Pato delivers a message that is food for the mind and soul. Many have considered his charismatic performance as live theatre where no show is alike and audience members become participants in the experience. Pato dialogues with the crowd on a range of topics including current day events and spiritual freedom while keeping the vibes upbeat and fun!  The direction of the concert is totally based on the feedback Pato receives from the audience as there is no fixed set list.  Many have said that the positivity generated from the stage has changed their lives forever.

Sometimes Pato invites his fans to join him in a prayer circle after the show, where some have cried while sharing their stories of contemplated suicide, isolation after losing a loved one, struggles with substance abuse and how their personal connection with Pato has given them the strength to “Stay Positive” & “Never Give In.”

The Pato Banton story charts his rise from the most disadvantaged of circumstances in his youth, through a long and successful career as a world renowned reggae legend, back to his roots with a commitment to work for the benefit of young people in his community, and finally on a mission to spread the “Good News” & “Positive Vibrations” to the “Now Generation”.

THE KNITTING FACTORY (Reno) PRESENTS;

REGGAE ARTIST CHERINE REUNITES WITH CHUCK FENDA ON HOT NEW DUET
KINGSTON, Jamaica - Dancehall Soul Queen Cherine and Chuck Fenda "The Living Fire" have done it again. They are two of Jamaica's best talents and have teamed up to release a sizzling new hit single "Call On Me". The track is produced by Unga Notice for Desires Production and is poised to do very well in the coming months.

Cherine's sultry and soulful voice combined with Chuck Fenda's melodic tone gives "Call On Me" a unique sound that only these two could have created. "Call On Me" as the title suggests is a song that encourages lovers to rely on each other, and celebrates real love. The song is perfect for lovers.

Since their massive reggae hit "Coming Over", fans and supporters have been asking for another collaboration. According to Cherine "since our hit "Coming Over", we talked about doing another song together but we've both been really busy so it just took longer than we expected". Chuck Fenda added that "we had to respond to the people, the people in the streets a ask for another Fenda and Cherine tune so wi jus a give the people what them ask for". Both singers agreed that going in studio to record "Call On Me" was just majic and felt like they were continuing where they left off with "Coming Over". It seems like the hit-making chemistry of the two singers has not been lost as all the radio and sound system DJs as well a select group of fans who previewed the track last week are all very excited about its release.

"Call On me" will become available on iTunes in the coming weeks, and a music video is also in the pipeline. In the meantime fans can listen to "Call On Me" on www.cherineanderson.com, Youtube,
www.sflcn.com/multimedia.php?id=EHebZTF2bPE Facebook, Twitter or tune in to your favorite radio stations where rotation has already picked up, turning attention to the hot new track.

Cherine is currently blazing the airwaves with the Sly and Robbie produced hit "Rebel." The song done by Cherine and Danielle, two of the hottest females in the business is fast becoming an anthem for independent and 'honor-rebel' females who all have that edgy sexy side. "Rebel" recently charted at #1 on CVM TV's Hitlist and routinely appears on local video and online charts.

TAJ WEEKES AT 92YTRIBECA

The St. Lucian phenom Taj Weekes and his band Adowa unite a true social consciousness with an unforgettable reggae groove. Blending in elements of acoustic roots rock and afro-folk simplicity, the band's vibrant sound defies genre and has garnered critical acclaim and a wide audience across the globe.

"Weekes and his band Adowa bring passion into their acoustic roots-rock rhythm, which has a tinge of African folk in the mix ... Be prepared for some soul-inspiring, expressive music."

FREEDOM CITY RECORDS PRESENTS:

MARCIA GRIFFITHS – ON THE NORTHWEST WORLD REGGAE FESTIVAL – AVAILABLE ON TOUR IN AUGUST 2011

Marcia Griffiths is currently one of the top reigning reggae artists in the world. She is the queen of reggae music. As one of the original I –Three’s vocalists with the great Bob Marley, Marcia is keeping the spirit of Bob Marley and the Wailers alive. Marcia is a direct link to the prophetical, proverbial king of Reggae – Bob Marley. In her shows she always covers some Bob Marley songs with class and sincerity.

This last February, Marcia was one of the strongest artists on the Raggamuffin festivals in the Long Beach arena and the San Diego Sports arena in southern California. Over the summer, 2010, Marcia Griffiths was very well represented on the festival circuit. She did a historical performance at Reggae in the Desert in Las Vegas on June 12th, greatly uplifting the energy of the festival. Her performance on the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival June 20th stood out very strongly as a top performance on that major festival. July 31st at Reggae on the River she also stood predominant, and on the Monterey Bay Reggae festival she again proved to be a definite highlight. Her energy and performances on all of these cornerstone California festivals were full of love and joy and good vibrations. Marcia Griffiths is a rare example of what true quality reggae music embodies.

May 15th Marcia attended a huge awards ceremony in Jamaica where she received an award for the greatest achievements in the music industry. Marcia is consistently very busy doing recording sessions, shows and tours in the Caribbean and beyond. She is always on the road. May 12th she was featured on a show in Jamaica for the European leaders and prime ministers. July 2010 she toured the eastern U.S. with Tanya Stevens. August 21st she performed in Toronto, Canada, and August 28th she performed on the Rototom Sunsplash festival in Benicassim, Spain. September 23rd she performed on a very successful show in Pittsburg with

Steven Marley singing his father Bob’s set, with Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths on background vocals. This show happened where Bob Marley did his last live performance. On October 10th she is performing on a big stage show in Miami Florida. On the late annual U.S. Sunsplash Tour with Tony Johnson, Marcia used to do the tour every year.

Marcia’s Love is Automatic single with Busy Signal was number one on the England and European charts. Another of her big current songs that gets a lot of radio airplay is What Goes Up, Must Come Down which is a combination with Marcia and Queen Ifrica. She also has out a single called A Beer and a Girl, which is a song about the memories of life in Jamaica in the older days. This is one of the stronger songs on her live set. She has another hit playing out there called There is a time for Wars, which is a combination with Beres Hammond. Marcia also recently recorded a track for the new Third World album. Marcia Griffiths is a busy woman.
