Creek Week Begins This Saturday, September 17th!

Creek Week is an annual community event celebrating our local watersheds, creeks, and ocean, with many local groups sponsoring events to help buid awareness and stewardship of the natural treasures of Santa Barbara.


Participate in guided nature walks, creek restoration events, project tours, beach and creek clean-ups, and much more!

"In Search of Water" Community Forum Featuring Neal Graffy


Tuesday, September 20th

6:30pm - 8pm

Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center

1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd.



Join local historian Neal Graffy for a presentation on the search for water in Santa Barbara.


Learn how early Santa Barbara inhabitants relied on our local creeks, and discovered their own impacts on local water quality.  


Light refreshments will be served.

Walking Wednesdays Tour of Mission Creek Fish Passage Projects


Wednesday, September 21st

5:30pm - 7pm

Meet at Oak Park Tennis Courts Parking Lot



Join the Creeks Division and COAST for a walking tour of Mission Creek from the recently completed restoration at the Tallant Road Bridge to the Upper Caltrans Channel, which is currently under construction.


Learn about efforts to restore the endangered Southern Steelhead Trout to Mission Creek.


Please wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to walk!

Mission Creek Lagoon Cleanup


Thursday, September 22nd

9:30am - 11am

Meet at Mission Creek Lagoon, just east of Stearns Wharf



Join the Creeks Division and Horny Toad Activewear for a cleanup of the Mission Creek Lagoon at East Beach.


Volunteers will help remove invasive plants from the Lagoon, and pick up trash before it reaches the ocean.


Please consider bringing along water, sturdy shoes, a hat, and sunblock!
