Inside the Studio

Bikes, flags and motion: The painting above, titled, "It's How We Roll" is representational of these reoccurring themes within my series of wheels. I plan to continue rolling out these wheel and bike paintings this summer [Penny farthers & other hi-wheel variants], so if you have a particular commission or idea in mind for me, I am open!

On other canvases, I continue to work on my Wildflowers. Queen Anne's Lace is everywhere I look now and is inspiring me to continue painting wildflowers in obscure yet familiar ways. I am up to about 10 pieces for the show in March which will debut at Posana Cafe in Asheville's historic Pack Square. This show will be a collection of 30 of my Dandelion & Queen Anne's Lace paintings titled: "The Celebration of the Weed". It's a study of the beautiful yet unwanted things in life. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered."

Over and beyond my TacTiles selling to families, doctor's offices, dentist offices, law firms, etc., they are now reaching further into the community to try and make a difference. The Asheville Tribune wrote an article on my TacTiles this month. It speaks briefly about my Project "Touch Generations" which is coming together and should officially launch within the next month. Fundraising efforts will be made through a Kickstarter project aiming to raise money and awareness for men and women who are in assisted living homes. My purpose will be to give back to those who forged the way ahead of us and to not forget them as they continue to touch our lives. My TacTiles are meant to aid in relaxation therapy, memory, large motor skills and aesthetic enjoyment.  Please let me know if you have any ideas, thoughts or momentum as I push these to a new level. I am making every effort to partner with the right people and facilities but your input continues and will always be invaluable to me. Thank you all for your continued support!
