October Party

Bittersweet October

Bittersweet October.

The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking,

perfect pause between the opposing miseries of

summer and winter.

Every leaf speaks bliss to me ...

I put all those knitted leaves and real acorns on the crocheted purse and got myself a new carry-all !

(Did I mention it happened last year? :-) and the leaves were made a year before that ... Why does it take me so long?)

Beautiful leaf art

Did you know you can turn maple leaves into beautiful roses? Great craft, and it was done right in front of me in a few minutes. Let's call this flower A-Rose. Stunning fall color!

Fall and Fiber Dream

This collage is my image of the fall in Paris. Oui.

One of the most popular fall festivals in Toronto Nuit Blanche (first Saturday in October) originated in Paris.

Nuit Blanche: The mother of ‘all-nighters.’ This cultural festival originated in Paris and has been copied in cities throughout the world. Many attractions and the metro are open all night for free to the public, as well as concerts, film festivals, art, photography and multi-media installations and every other conceivable form of entertainment and culture.

C'est magnifique!

Shall we dance?

October gave a party;

The leaves by hundreds came -

The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,

And leaves of every name.

The Sunshine spread a carpet,

And everything was grand,

Miss Weather led the dancing,

Professor Wind the band.
