It is time to end the atrocities.
Dear Friends of Animals Worldwide!
We're pleased to announce that registration for the AFS Animal Rights Conference is now open! When:  May 31 – June 2, 2013.  Where: Sheraton Suites, Old Town Alexandria, 801 N Saint Asaph Street, Alexandria, VA Hotel & Directions
Full Conference Registration includes  admission to all exhibits, films, exciting speakers, provocative panels and entertaining events, as well as great vegan breakfast buffets, lunches, Reception and Banquet Dinner View Menu. You are welcome to join us as a sponsor, exhibitor, full registrant or just register for the sessions.  Anyone inside or outside of the animal rights community is welcome to participate and learn about compassion in our world.  As our aim is not profit, we have again done all we could to make this a very special and affordable event for everyone who wishes to join us.
Our last Conference was sold out so you are advised to register early to ensure admission, since space is limited, and not only for attendees, but for exhibitors, as well. Please be certain to contact us regarding availability in the different exhibitor categories, if you want to be an exhibitor. Refer to the REGISTRATION page for details, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.
Our website is almost complete and contains most of the information you will need. The Program, however, still awaits confirmation from a number of invited speakers and guests representing diverse areas of animal rights advocacies; they will be added in the days ahead. In the meantime, bios of returning speakers from our first Conference are included. Please check our website regularly as we will be posting new information as it becomes available.
Be sure to check out all the perks offered by the Conference as well as the hotel’s great facilities and excellent rates: HOTEL.  Also, bear in mind that Old Town Alexandria is only steps away from Washington DC, and offers a host of wonderful tourist attractions, including boat trips on the Potomac! This represents a unique opportunity for an early summer vacation while participating in a fabulous conference: Things to do in Old Town Alexandria.  As you may already know, Memorial Day weekend is the most celebrated holiday in the United States, and Americans from all around the country come to Washington DC to enjoy the many free events that take place over these 3 days, e.g.: CONCERT.  If you wish to take advantage of the Memorial week-end holiday, please contact us regarding hotel arrangements. We are working closely with the Sheraton to arrange discount rates for registered attendees who would like to be in town for the Memorial Day week-end, May 25th-May 27th and stay on for the Conference.

We look forward to receiving your registration and to welcoming you to our second successful conference!
Warm regards,

Rosa & Shannon
Please share this newsletter and our site: with your friends and contacts and also on social media. THANK YOU! :))
PS: At this time, we are still in need of a speaker with a good knowledge and keen interest in fur bearing animal issues, and in particular with knowledge about trapping, penning and the so called "culling of wildlife" which includes bears, wolves, foxes, coyotes, etc. We would love to have you join our panel and round table discussion on fur bearing animals. Your contribution to this event will be invaluable as a voice for so many sentient beings currently at the mercy of the merciless. If you are able to contribute to this very special cause, please send us a note.
The Anti-Fur Society Conference is an animal rights advocacy gathering which focuses on anti-fur activism as well as a variety of other animal issues. There is a special focus on the fur industry and all fur bearing animal issues which do not generally receive a great deal of attention, namely, blood sports, trapping, penning, hunting and other abuses.
Most fur bearing animals are classified as wildlife, and as such, are not accorded even the minimum protection given to other animals under the law, and which may land abusers in jail; there is NO justice that can be sought against the perpetrators on behalf of these animals and especially those that are hunted and trapped in the wild.  We must work together so these sentient beings will have at least a minimum protection under the law.
The AFS Conference is dedicated to other animal issues of concern to activists and of vital importance to the animal rights movement, i.e.: vivisection, horse slaughter, animals used for food, in entertainment, pets killed in shelters, etc.  All single issue groups are welcome, and indeed encouraged to participate as they are the fabric of animal liberation worldwide>>> Read more
