New Research Shows Polyamorists Would Choose Plural Marriage!

The 2012 Loving More Survey is the largest survey of self identified polyamorists to date and the results may surprise many.

An Overview of the Results of the 2012 Loving More Survey of more than 4000 polyamorous individuals is now available on the Loving More Website.  The research shows that many polyamorists would choose to marry multiple partners if it were legal; the study also shows that polyamorists are happier and healthier overall.

This groundbreaking study is just the tip of the iceberg, Loving More has plans to work with reseachers for future studies to learn more about polyamory and the people who orient toward multi-partnered relationships.

Statement from Loving More Spokesperson and Executive Director Robyn Trask

"What excites us about the 2012 Survey is the direct comparison with the general population.  This comparison offers a deeper understanding of people who are oriented to polyamorous relationships; are they happy and satisfied with their relationships, as well as insight into challenges with discrimination and general attitude toward marriage. It can help people to understand polyamory and the information allows Loving More to better help and serve the polyamory community and movement. Discrimination is clearly a problem for many people and that is something we can work to change."

"As to whether we will take up the cause of multi-partnered marriage, it is not clear at this time. The polyamory movement is still working toward basic acceptance and fighting discrimination. Housing, job security and child custody are at the forefront as these are the challenges most people have experienced. There is currently no legal means to fight these kinds of discrimintation for people who are polyamorus."

Loving More Mission

to educate people about and support polyamory as a valid choice in loving relationships and family lifestyle.

What we believe

Loving relationships and healthy families can come in many beautiful and valid forms.  How people choose to experience relationships and love is an individual and personal choice.  Through education about polyamory and other relationship or love styles, we hope to allow people the freedom to be open and honest about their personal love and relationship choices, without fear of the prejudice or hardships that being non-traditional can bring.  Through education, publicity and research, we intend to open the door to freedom and safety for those who choose polyamory as individuals and as families.

Loving More® is a national non-profit corporation and 501(c)3 charity, educational website, online community and magazine dedicated to the support and education of polyamory and polyamorous issues, supporting the polyamorous community both nationally and internationally for more than twenty five years.  The Loving More Website offers information on polyamory including terminology, FAQ, links, professional listings and is a portal through our links to local, national and international groups/organizations about or related to polyamorous issues.
