Grevillea 'Peaches and Cream'
25% OFF  A small to medium sized shrub with a dense spreading habit to 4 to 6 feet tall by slightly wider with attractive deeply dissected foliage that is bright green with bronze highlights in winter.  It produces  4 inch long loose flower clusters that are greenish yellow that age to various shades of yellow, pink and orange and can be in flower at any time of the year. Plant in full to partial sun in a well-drained soil and water occasionally – should prove drought tolerant once established. Tolerant of both dry conditions and considerable humidity. A great looking plant in the garden as a specimen or short screen where its multicolored flowers over a long period are both beautiful and attractive to nectar feeding birds.
Ceanothus ‘Ray Hartman’  25% OFF  California Lilac -This handsome native shrub or small tree is attractive in so many respects: it requires little water to thrive, has lovely true-blue flowers, attracts bees, butterflies and birds, and has a lovely fragrance. It’s also evergreen, fast growing, long lived, heat tolerant, and low maintenance. ‘Ray Hartman’ is a hybrid of two species parents – Ceanothus arboreus and Ceanothus griseus. Grows to 15' x 15'.
Ceanothus "Zanzibar" 25% OFF  California Lilac - A bushy evergreen with striking yellow and green variegated leaves, which deepen to a rich gold as the year progresses to provide a stirring contrast against its sporadic blue flowers. Preferring a sheltered, ideally south facing position in the sun, the evergreen foliage makes an excellent backdrop for other plants, so it’s a great choice for training against a wall. It will grow well in most well drained soils.  Foliage irregularly edged with gold in addition to pretty pale blue flowers make for a long season of attractiveness on this 6-8' almost-native shrub.
Ceanothus Joyce Coulter' 25% OFF is an evergreen mountain lilac ground cover, 2 foot high by 8 foot wide, (but can be much taller or wider depending on how you prune it, the sun it receives, the water received). Joyce Coulter blooms medium blue in March-May, has dark green foliage, and is heat and drought tolerant. Perfect for dry slopes and anywhere you want a tough, evergreen groundcover. This low but wide California native shrub is easy to grow and an all around valiant and durable garden plant. Smothered with fragrant, beautiful lilac blue flowers in Spring(which are attractive to birds and bees and butterflies), this Ceanothus grows to 2’ high and 8’ wide.
Penstemon 'Margarita BOP' 25% OFF is distinctly different from other varieties of Penstemon, even at first glance. That's because on top of its compact 2' x 2' mound of foliage are dozens of flowers, which may be sky blue, or iridescent violet, or somewhere in between. This California native perennial was a chance discovery by Las Pilitas Nursery sometime in the early 80's when the workers noticed that this little Penstemon which sprung up on its own was flourishing despite never being watered, fertilized or tended to. Las Pilitas Nursery is located in Santa Margarita California, and the 'BOP' stands for Back of Porch where the original specimen thrived for over a decade, until it was accidentally smothered by cement. It is drought tolerant, thrives in full sun, and attracts hummingbirds.
Air Plants (Tillandsia) 25% OFF  We have a wide selection of Air Plants of all shapes and sizes. Air Plants are perfect for those with a fear of houseplants. Native to the southern United States, Mexico, Central America, and South America, air plants are warm-weather lovers that can thrive despite neglect. These bromeliads get all of the water and nutrients they need through their specialized leaves, using their roots only for attaching themselves to rocks, trees, shrubs, and the ground.  Air plants need some moisture; from late spring to mid-autumn, mist daily. In winter, mist only once or twice a week. Constant air circulation -- as the name indicates -- is paramount to keeping your plant happy.
HOT Peppers.  25% OFF If you like your peppers HOT  the Carolina Reaper is THE World’s Hottest Pepper according to the Guinness Book of World Records. This pepper is better described as the demon pepper child that was invented by man. There is nothing normal about this pepper. It was bred for heat and that it is. Oddly enough this pepper has excellent flavor as well as a sweet and fruity flavor just before the heat kicks in. One unique feature shared by a few of the super hot peppers is the “scorpion’s tail” that is very well defined in this pepper. It gets its tail from being a cross between a Pakistani Naga and a Red Habanero. Other hot pepper plants found in our herbs section are the Trinidad Scorpion and the Ghost Pepper.

The Garden Tower
Great for Kids
50 Plants plus Composting in four square feet! Ideal for urban gardens and small spaces the Garden Tower grows plants vertically, enabling you to grow 50 plants in a very small space -- the ultimate square foot garden with integrated composting for organic gardening! Most container gardens only allow planting on the top. The Garden Tower has 45 openings around the outside and space for up to 5 taller plants on top, resulting in an impressively bountiful harvest.  Along with the top, side planting pockets are large enough to accommodate compact root vegetables such as turnips, carrots, and radishes.

Meanwhile inside the tower just add kitchen scraps to create compost. The long tube running down the center of the vertical garden tower is a vermic omposting system. Half a cup of worms is added at the beginning of the growing season. Kitchen vegetable scraps are then added regularly to keep the vertical compost tube full.
The worms feed on the organic matter, turning it into worm manure called worm castings, an excellent organic fertilizer and soil amendment. As the worm castings accumulate and aerobic microbial digestion advances, the compost near the bottom of the compost tube turns to rich black organic matter and can be removed easily using the included no-clog compost plug.  Included in the $375 price are two bags of Fox Farms planting mix.
We have plenty of Tropical Milkweed in stock. This variety grows best in our climate and attracts Monarch butterflies.

To avoid potential problems cut it down in November. It will return the following season with fresh new foliage. Milkweed also attracts hummingbirds.
