Martin County River Kidz
The Kidz came out to support the Press Conference on Friday, Jan. 16th in opposition of the Lake Okeechobee discharges happening currently.  There were a total of 13 River Kidz from Martin and St. Lucie Counties and they held their signs proudly chanting "Save Our River!", "Buy the Land!" and "Send it South!".  Their faces are always a reminder that they are our river's future.
The Martin County River Kidz Second Edition Workbook will be printed by February! There will be an informative and educational workshop for all Martin County second grade teachers, public and private, to attend at Environmental Studies Center on Saturday, February 28th. Crystal Lucas and Valerie Gaynor will run the field trip event and guest speakers will be Marty Baum, (Indian Riverkeeper), Jacqui Thurlow-Lippisch, Nic Mader and her daughter, Naia (co-founder of River Kidz).  There will also be a few other River Kidz and Earth Savers Crew on hand as dozens for the Center.  Breakfast and lunch included teachers!  Sign up soon!  Only 44 spots open.

St. Lucie County River Kidz
St. Lucie County’s next River Kidz meeting is Feb. 8, 2015 from 1pm to 3pm at the Manatee Observation and Education Center.
We are preparing for spring where we’ll be engaging in a two possible community gardens. Our goal is to introduce to our families different ways to maintain their gardens without depending on “lagoon harming” products. Also, the importance of native plants. Families are being asked to bring seeds, during the meeting we’ll be doing a seed swap.

We also are looking for artsy River Kidz from all over! We are preparing to hold a River Kidz Art show with proceeds going to a local environmental organization. We are asking parents who’s child(ren) may be interested in donating a painting, drawing, photo or sculpture to get in touch with Katy Lewey at
Blessing of The Fleet & Marine Parade
Speakers Bureau
We are starting 2015 with a lot of demand for our speakers! Kevin Henderson spoke with The League of Women Voters in January. We are also scheduled to visit with the St. Lucie Sailing Club in early February.
