Princess Party

I’m very happy to report that our seventh-annual Princess Party to benefit the Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center was a complete success. The Princess Party was held last Saturday at Bartlett Country Club. More than 120 princesses had their hair styled and nails polished by local beauticians and other volunteers. The princesses and their guests were treated to a luncheon and were entertained by volunteers dressed up as Disney princesses. The Princess Party has become an annual event for some families. The event helps build support for the center and its mission to eliminate child abuse. I want to thank our STCAC Program Coordinator Kristy Hamacher for coordinating the Princess Party and making sure everything ran smoothly. I'd also like to recognize all the volunteers and STHCS staff who helped make the Princess Party a success. This is truly a wonderful event that benefits the center and helps raise awareness of its mission.

EMS Skills Fairs

Once again this year, we are holding EMS Skills Fairs to help regional EMS providers meet their annual skills requirements. We partnered with Olean General Hospital, WCA Hospital, ALSTAR EMS and TansAm to offer these Skills Fairs as a benefit to local EMS providers. The first Skills Fair was held last week at Olean General Hospital. We’re holding a second Skills Fair tonight at ALSTAR Training Center in Jamestown. Upcoming Skills Fairs will be held on:

  • Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ALSTAR Training Center
  • Friday, April 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Crossroads Center in Belmont
  • Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Center in Belmont
  • Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ALSTAR’s North Dunkirk site

These Skills Fairs allow EMS providers to have their skills evaluated and verified by an approved EMS evaluator. Each year EMS providers are required to submit their annual skills sheets to STEMS no later than June 30. Registration for the Skills Fairs is preferred but not required. Please contact STEMS at (716) 372-0614 or at stems@sthcs.org to register.
