President's Message
The fabulous 2015 Annual NAEA Conference brought together educators, policy makers, authors, speakers, and consultants who shared ideas, inspiration, and planning processes for shaping and advancing alternative education. Featuring a variety of presentations, the lineup mirrored the diversity of educational practices and the uniformity of passion in alternative education.
The conference was charged with energy after our keynote speakers: Dave Burgess, Dr. Crystal Kuykendall, Christian Moore, Lisa Bell, and Alyssandra Malinish. We allleft rethinking the way we lead and teach, ready to engage our students with exciting and creative lessons while leading them toward a path of resiliency.
Aside from the educational aspects of the conference, attendees showed up ready to collaborate with educators from around the nation and internationally at our two networking receptions. The Sawgrass Marriott provided a beautiful, relaxing location with superb service and easy access to the beach.
I would also like to announce 2015 Board of Directors:

Executive Board
President: Kay W. Davenport,   Vice President: Jackie Whitt,
Treasurer: Pat Conner,   Secretary: Ed Lowther,    Board Advisor: Bob Eichorn

Ja'Net Bishop, Pam Bruening, Adrienne Lacey-Bushell, John Holmes,
Denise Riley, Joel Schutte and Richard Thompson.

It is a pleasure to work with such a dedicated Board who are committed to volunteer service.
We are excited to announce that the superior Sawgrass Marriott will be the location of the 2016 conference as well. Mark your calendars now for March 16 - March 19, 2016 and tell all your colleagues!

Thank you to all of our former and current board members, honored guests, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. This conference was a huge success and a great opportunity to bring our members together to share their experiences, bright spots, and challenges. We work better together!
