Independence Day

After weeks of seeming non-stop rain, it looks like we’re finally going to enjoy some dry weather and hopefully sunshine for the Fourth of July weekend. I want to wish everyone in the STHCS family a happy and safe Independence Day. This weekend as you are celebrating our independence with family and friends, please take a moment to think about our veterans and the men and women currently serving in the military who sacrificed so much to ensure and protect our freedom.

Cleveland Clinic Video

If you could see through someone else’s eyes or feel what they’re feeling, would you treat them differently? That question was at the heart of a wonderful presentation given by Dr. Adrienne Boissy, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic during the HANYS Conference on enhancing the patient experience. As part of the presentation, Dr. Boissy shared this video, “Empathy, The Human Connection to Patient Care” which is shown to all Cleveland Clinic staff. I shared the video with my staff and I’d like to invite you to watch it as well. It’s only four minutes long, but I can promise you, it’s worth your time to watch.
