Fun in the Sun

As you read this hopefully I’m lying on a beach, listening to the surf and not checking my email. The Kahm family is on its annual summer vacation. I’m able to relax because I know our STHCS staff is able to provide the services clients and communities rely on. I’ll be back at my desk next week. If you need to, send me an email and I will respond as soon as I am able. As always, I want to thank Southern Tier Health Care System Board of Trustees members and our community partners for your continued guidance and success. Because of you we achieve our mission to improve the health and wellness of the rural communities we serve every day.

Suicide Prevention

The Cattaraugus County Suicide Prevention Coalition will hold its annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk on Saturday, September 12, at Good Times of Olean. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in America and many of us have lost family members and friends to suicide or know someone who has. Help is available for those struggling with suicidal thoughts. The number for the Cattaraugus County Crisis Hotline is 1-800-339-5209 and the Allegany Crisis Hotline is 1-888-448-3367. You can also find help and support by calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at1-800-237-8255.
