We had a great time during our Annual Spring Fling Quilt Show on Saturday, May 7th. Congratulations to all our lucky door prize winners! Theresa Frank (above) was one of many.
We also want to extend a special thanks to Monika Hancock, our featured artist. Monika displayed more than a dozen of her award-winning quits, including "Fire and Ice." Monika was here all day visiting with customers.
In addition, Diane Dixon received the Arizona Quilter's Hall of Fame Award for her "Butterfly" Quilt. Diane has been on the staff here for over 12 years. Several other staff members also had quilts on display. Just in case you missed it, check out our event photos online for all the fun and excitement.

Summer is upon us and we are looking forward to the 2016 Row by Row Experience beginning in June and the Northern Arizona Shop Hop in July.
I also have some exciting news to share. As some of our long-time customers may know, we used to have a separate Gallery building next to the shop were we sold items on consignment.
We have had so many requests to bring it back and now the opportunity has arisen for us to do so. We plan to open the doors again soon. In the Gallery, we will display and sell quilts on consignment, and offer other gift-related items. The Gallery will be open during our regular business hours. Watch for more news in the coming weeks.
Also, we plan to be posting announcements, special sales, contests and more through our Facebook page, so be sure to visit and "Like" our page. Only those who "Like" us will be eligible for special contests and more. Facebook.com/QuiltersStoreSedona

"Make Me Beautiful" Contest
|
We have already received several "Make Me Beautiful" blocks for our challenge contest and raffle benefiting the Verde Valley Sanctuary (women's shelter.) In fact, we may even get enough blocks to make two quilts. Completed blocks are already on display.
Voting begins June 1st and runs through July 31st. We have decided to extend the deadline to submit blocks through June. The earlier you submit, the more opportunity you have for lots of votes.
Stop by the shop and purchase any one of the fat-eighth fabrics above ($1.00 each, cash only). Make a 9x9 finished block and submit it to us by June 1, 2016. (Twenty percent of the block must be comprised of the fat-eighth you bought.)
The "Viewer's Choice" and runners-up will be announced on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. If your block is the "Viewers Choice, you will win a $50 gift certificate to be used at the store. Runners-up will receive gift certificates from Sedona's Twice Nice Thrift Shop.
After the voting is done, the blocks will be used to make a quilt. Raffle tickets will be sold with all proceeds going to the Verde Valley Women's Shelter. The raffle winner will be announced at our annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 3, 2016.

From the Plains of Africa
|
This new collection, Wisdom of the Plains, designed by Tara Reed for Quilting Treasures, is sophisticated in its rich colors and subtle, inspirational messages. Insightful words are showcased in silhouette motifs of animals from the plains of Africa. The patterns are a beautiful mix of animal motif patches, safari scenes, stripes, geometric patterns and leaves. Colors include shades of brown, tan, cream, gray, teal and black. This fabric will bring that "Out of Africa" feel to your special quilts, apparel, home decor accents and other projects. (Note: The print below is actually a vertical stripe fabric.)

2016 Row by Row Experience
|
The 2016 Row by Row Experience begins June 21st and it's time to start planning your shop visits and project ideas. This year's theme is "Home Sweet Home."
In keeping with the 2016 theme, we chose to highlight the desert landscape surrounding our Sedona home. Our row features rock formations indicative of the area, desert brush and cacti with peeks of blue sky. We used traditional log cabin blocks to frame the landscape. Our row pattern is here and we are busy making lots of kits. You can pick up your FREE row pattern beginning June 21st. Our Row by Row Kit will cost $12.00 and can be purchased in the store between Jun. 21st - Sept. 6th. Starting November 1st, row patterns and kits will also be sold online and can be shipped domestically.
You can purchase our 2016 Shop FabricPlate™ in the store, online or by phone right now. Fabricplates™ cost $5.00 each. We sold out several times last year and had multiple waiting lists, so don't wait long to get yours.
Also, check these fun Row by Row project ideas. Our FabricPlate bag uses the Tuscany Tote pattern by Pink Sand Beach Designs and the FabricPlate quilt is Shop Talk, by Eunice Hill of Bee Creative Designs. Send us your completed project idea and we will post it to our shop's album on the Arizona Row by Row Facebook page.
