PreNatal Reunion
Sunday, 8/14, 3:00 - 3:50 pm

Bond with your baby, reunite with your prenatal friends as well as other new mamas, and 
learn about healthy sleep patterns in this introductory class specifically geared to nurturing new families through the practice of yoga. 

Students will learn poses f
or babies that help them digest, calm, and sleep.  Class discussions will allow mothers (and fathers) to talk about all the real feelings that come during the
transition of becoming a parent. Candy will also offer a short lecture on healthy sleep patterns for the entire family. No previous yoga experience is required.  

Age:  Newborn to pre-crawling.  Drop-In Rate to attend.

Try our barre class with Keala on Friday, August 19, 3:15 - 4:00 pm. 

Barre is a fun and empowering class that will tone & strengthen your body!  The warm up focuses on flexibility and alignment, followed by a series of upper body exercise using body weight/light weights.  Ballet inspired moves throughout the rest of class will get your heart rate up and build musclular endurance.  No dance experience necessary, safe for all ages/abilities.  Plenty of modifications given!

Backbending Workshop with Lynn

Backbends are an incredible addition to your yoga practice and your life!  
When practiced correctly backbends are highly therapeutic and invigorating. Known as "natural antidepressants" they open the heart center, reduce anxiety by releasing the psoas muscle, and elevate both energy and mood. Yoga with Janet

Please join us on Wednesday, Aug. 31st from 4:15 - 5:30 pm as Janet leads us in a yoga practice to celebrate the joy of life and the power of community! 

This vinyasa class will be playful, uplifting and grounding.  As Janet begins to transition from Blacksburg to another life adventure, and as we collectively begin to transition from summer to fall, this practice willl provide a sense of well-being to our mind, body, and spirit and allow us to soak in our communal wisdom and love.  Thank you, Janet for everything you have given to this community and sharing your practice and energy!

This three-and-a-half day course is for everyone and every body.  It is highly beneficial for those who want to knowledgeably develop a restorative home practice, and for teachers who want to confidently and safely guide their students into restorative yoga postures.

set up for 25+ postures
how to incorporate restorative yoga into a hatha or vinyasa class

PARKING: We validate parking at Kent Square for two hours when you practice at the studio.  Bring your ticket and show the front desk and receive two Kent Square ticket vouchers.  After 5 pm on a weekday or any time on a weekend - park at the Town of Blacksburg across from In Balance Yoga.
