|Balsam Range Kicks Off Feast to the Beat Events|
|In celebration of our National Parks and National Heritage Areas, a nationwide road trip, Feast to the Beat, will make a stop in Asheville on August 4-5, with a concert to benefit the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership and the Blue Ridge Music Trails of NC, plus a day-long special event at the Parkway Visitor Center.|
August 4 - Ticketed Event at Highland Brewing Event Center
As a prelude to the Feast to the Beat Special Event, (see below) Balsam Range will perform on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at 7 pm, at Highland Brewing Company's Event Center in Asheville with an opening performance by Tellico. Presented by the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership and Highland Brewing, the proceeds will support the Blue Ridge Music Trails of North Carolina. As part of Feast to the Beat, Jam in the Van and Celebrity Chefs will make an appearance before the show. Highland will also offer tours.
August 5 - Free Event at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center
The day-long Feast to the Beat special event will be on Friday, August 5, 10 am to 4 pm, at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center, Asheville, near milepost 384.
A highlight of the day will be JAM IN THE VAN, a solar-powered mobile recording studio, which will record five bands during the event. The audience can view the action on large-screen monitors outside the van.
Regional chefs Ally Phillips of Ally's Kitchen and Arlene Cotler, known for her designer dinner parties, will demonstrate and compete using local foods to highlight the cuisine of the North Carolina mountains. In addition, the day will feature specialized activities and interpretive programming.
Free and open to the public, the Friday Feast to the Beat special event will help more people discover and appreciate our National Parks, National Heritage Areas, and the culture and history of our region.
