Matching Gifts
Congratulations to team Denise Mitterando and Caboo for receiving a $500 Community Grant for CCPT from IBM.  The grant was awarded based on Denise and Caboo's volunteer hours.

Please check with your HR Departments to see if your volunteer hours can be used towards a donation to CCPT.

We know how stressed office workers can get and CCPT is hoping to help by bringing our therapy dogs into your work.  Please share this with the person in your office who is responsible for special events and contact us at iinfo@ccpettherapy.org.  We can take it from there and schedule a visit.

Does your employer have a matching gift program?  Check with your HR Department and if they do, you can double your donation to CCPT by completing a short form which then is sent to us so we can prove our non-profit status.
Milestones and Passages
To the great therapy dogs who have crossed over the rainbow bridge - thank you for your many years of service and for bringing joy to countless people.

Pris Ann Fara, owned by Becky Fara was a gentle giant and spent many hours of pet therapy working with veterans.  They loved to visit with Pris Ann every week and I'm sure were so sad when she retired last year.  Pris Ann was certified by CCPT in 2011, but had years of pet therapy experience working with other organizations.

Molly McGee was certified in 2012 with both Nancy and Erin Pender and spent her pet therapy years working with seniors, both at the adult day care where Erin worked and at nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Sandy Bungo, owned by Liz Bungo has been one of our long-term therapy dogs, who came to CCPT in 2011 with loads of experience.  Liz and Sandy started the Animal Assisted Therapy program at ARI many years ago and continued the program when she joined CCPT.  In addition to therapy work, Sandy was a professional actor, starring in many shows of Annie both on Broadway and in NJ.

Message from Executive Director
To All CCPT Teams, Volunteers and Supporters,

’Twas 11 days before the Brunch…and visions of auction items dance in my head (along with many other pre-event details)!

If you have not already purchased your tickets for the Champagne Brunch on October 23rd, today is the last day! The excitement is building and we hope you will join us at Brooklake Country Club to see your friends, hear the history of CCPT, celebrate our 5th Anniversary and honor our co-founders, Joan Baer and Annie Murphy.  Here’s a sneak preview of the history: this organization has grown from about 15 teams at the start to now certifying 10-14 new teams monthly!!  Please come support CCPT at this fundraiser so we can continue to achieve this mission that impacts thousands.

See you there!  Mary Beth

TEAM RECORDS
A message from Records and Retention Coordinator, Mo McEntee:

  • Reminders for soon to expire records for our teams are on an automated system now. You do not need to reply unless your status has changed.
  • Please refrain from going on visits until we have received your updated shot records.
  • Please advise us if you or your pet partner are sick, injured or need a break. This information helps us to balance the facility requests with the number of current teams we have
  • Try to visit 2 time monthly or 24 times per year. If you’ve done a visit not on the calendar, please report to Nancy so you can be credited for these visits.
  • If your pet seems tired or reluctant to go on visits, it may be time to give them a short break.
