CEO Update
Walt Reisner
It's with a great deal of sadness and a sense of loss that I share with you the death of Walt Reisner, former member of the STHCS Board of Directors. For many years Walt served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was a tireless advocate for improving emergency medical care throughout the region. He was instrumental in bringing the fly car and advanced life support EMS care to the region. There are people alive today who would not be were it not for Walt. In fact, he was just honored in November with a LOUIE Award at the Greater Olean Are Chamber of Commerce annual dinner for his contributions to the community. Walt represented the highest ideals of the EMS profession and he was a wonderful friend and mentor. He will be missed. Please keep Walt's family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this difficult time.
Matthew Lamothe
I’m heartbroken to share with you that Matthew Lamothe, 30, the son of area EMS Medical Director Dr. Henri Lamothe, died earlier this week. Dr. Lamothe is a dedicated member of our regional emergency medical community. I’d ask that you keep Dr. Lamothe and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this difficult time together.
Board of Directors
I want to thank members of the Board of Directors for attending Wednesday’s board meeting. It was great to hear everyone’s input and thoughtful suggestions as we move toward finding a new home for STHCS. When we defined this need in our strategic plan, we knew it would take a lot of thought and planning to achieve. Without the guidance and support of the Board of Directors none of this would have been possible.
EMS Target Solutions
We’re in discussions with Target Solutions to see if we can facilitate a group license for Target Solutions’ EMS on-line trainings for providers in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. This would be a way for EMS providers to complete the CME CORE pilot program 100 percent online. The city of Olean is using this service now and has seen great success. We’re looking into this right now. If this is something you feel you’d be interested in, please contact our STEMS office at (716) 372-0614 or at
