| | | "Morning on the grass" integrates painting, assemblage, and form into a hybrid of painting and sculpture. The collection and use of materials continue a pictorial narrative within my Southern vocabulary, while also striving to attain a universal appeal.
Metaphorically, it connects to mornings shimmering with frost or dew when every surface - grass, spiders web, leaves, branches - sparkles with a silver light.
Aesthetically, these calm and tranquil mornings benefit the prospect of better thoughts. While the rising sun eventually erases this bejeweled phenomena, my memory of such gossamer bling influences a natural goodness towards better days. Enjoy.
