CEO Update
Happy Easter
You’re receiving my CEO update on Thursday because our offices will be closed on Friday for Easter. I want to wish everyone in the STHCS family a happy Easter and I hope each of you is able to enjoy this time of reflection and renewal with friends and family. As we pursue our mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve, I look forward to meeting the challenges we’ll face together as we move forward. I know there is nothing we can’t accomplish as a team.
Rural Health Council
I attended a very informative State Rural Health Council meeting Tuesday in Albany. Rural Health Director Karen Madden explained that she has joined a national work group. She said that the work group will be sharing information and best practice ideas on rural health workforce shortages, scope of practice, tele-health and EMS. We also had a very informative presentation on organ donation and the NYS Donate Life registry. It was mentioned that April is National Donate Life Month and next Friday, April 21, is National Donate Life Blue and Green Day. On Blue and Green day, people are encouraged to wear blue and green in an effort to spread awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation. One organ, eye and tissue donor can save the lives and heal up to 75 people. Please visit the Donate Life America website for more information and consider becoming an organ donor.
