Happy Day!!
From Inspirational to Transformational Gratitude

The theme this year is "Transformational Gratitude - Creating the Magic that is Needed Now."  For several years the fairies have taught us the power of Love in shaping our reality.  Now we are refining our understanding, with the recognition that gratitude is, in a way, "Love with Attitude"; by focusing on what you feel grateful for, you find yourself falling in love.

This kind of focus makes a gratitude practice a powerful prayer:

"If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.” -Meister Eckhart
"Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”  - Eckhart Tolle

The fairies are also teaching us that one way to get to transformational gratitude, is with inspirational gratitude: the gratitude that comes when you least expect it, when you are moving thru the day to day world, feeling mundane, a Muggle, then suddenly the light breaks thru, you catch a glimpse of Faery, your heart blossoms as the world shines.

"Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend… when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present — love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure — the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth.” –Sarah Ban Breathnach

Where the Wild Things Are: Kids and Teens Areas

Supporting children and teens in their relationships with nature and the Fairy realms is the aim of the Kids and Teens programs. For the kids, providing opportunities to enhance their imaginations and to make friends is our focus. For the teens, learning to listen to their own inner guidance and develop relationships with healthy Fey energies, understanding the place for discernment, protection and boundaries in the other realms and this realm, and experiencing fellowship with other teens is the focus.

If you are a teen, Sara wants to hear from you as to what you want to see at the Congress this year, and how she can support you - see her full message here.

If you are the parent of a child who will be visiting the kids' area this year, please see Sara's post here to see what is in the works!

Both posts can be found under the 'News' button on the Fairy Congress home page.
Worktrade Update

Worktrade positions are filling up!  The main area of need at this point is in the kitchen, for both food prep and dishwashing.

The worktrade rate will be going up on May 20th, so if you are interested in helping out and coming for a reduced rate,  please fill out the application form at www.fairycongress.com/worktrade/
Rideshare!!
We support and encourage carpooling to the Congress!  If you can offer a ride or need a ride, please let us know at register@fairycongress.com  Right now seeking rides are: a woman from Newport, OR, and another woman from Vancouver BC, although she can take a bus to Bellingham if that is easier to find a ride from there.
There is someone coming from the airport who can offer a ride on Thursday.
On-site Lodging Available

There are still shared indoor accommodations available onsite at Skalitude Retreat for the Congress.  These rooms normally fill up so it's best to reserve early. The rooms sleep three people each, share a half-bath with the neighboring room, and have access to an indoor shower.  Linens and towels are provided.  Please contact skalitude@gmail.com to reserve a bed.
Support the Congress!
We have found the best means of spreading the word about the Fairy Congress is by word of mouth. People who have come to the Congress and experienced the love and transformative energy are the best advertising available.

If you are on Facebook, you can support the Congress by going to the event page and either say you're coming if you are, or just say you're interested, but either way it gets seen by a wider audience.

Who We Are
The Fairy & Human Relations Congress is an annual event that attracts about 300 people in the Methow Valley in Washington State.

June 23 - 25, 2017

The Congress is dedicated to Promoting Communication and Co-Creation with Nature Spirits, Devas and the Faery Realms.

This year's theme:
Transformational Gratitude:
Creating the Magic That Is Needed Now

The Fairy & Human Relations Congress initially started in the early 1950’s in England with Daphne Charters. The first Congress in the US was held at Skalitude Retreat in 2001. It has been an annual event ever since.

Through the years, we have been joined by Peter Tompkins (Secret Life of Plants), Findhorn co-founders Dorothy Maclean and David Spangler, and teachers in the Celtic Faery tradition RJ Stewart, Caitlín Matthews and Orion Foxwood, Yew Shaman Michael Dunning, Dreamwork Shaman Robert Moss, Brook Medicine Eagle and many more.

Our presenters also include flower essence specialists, animal and plant communicators, shamanic practitioners and herbalists, wildcrafters, biodynamic farmers, fairy seers, intuitives, geomancers and dowsers, Bards and Druids, and Native American storytellers.

Testimonials
"The Congress has given me back my sense of purpose, direction and connection to all things. The atmosphere of gentle kindness provided me with a chance to slow down, shift conciousness and trust again."
      - Sheila

"Where do I begin with my praise?  I have taught at many events over the last 7 years and nothing compares with the Congress. I was awed by the the people, the land, the spirits...the love.  So much love!"
       - Michael Dunning

"The Fairy Congress reminds us in deep and important ways that we share this world with other sentient beings, both seen and unseen. In the midst of global environmental challenges when for our own survival we as human beings are called to rethink our behavior on the earth and renew our partnership with nature, such reminding is essential. The Congress gives an opportunity to participate in envisioning and building a healthier and more holistic world."
       - David Spangler

"The Fairy Congress is not a New Age forum event. It’s about Doing, Joining, Sharing, looking to the future. In a collapsing world economy, Fairy Congress gives us an idea of another way of living, another way of thinking. Some of it comes from ancestral wisdom, some from new human visions of departing from the greed of commercial modernism. Fairy Congress is an Idealist event, a Visionary event, and an event buoyant with hope and friendship."
       - RJ Stewart

"I have been teaching at this fantastic gathering for several years now. It really is the premier gathering on working with the nature spirit realm. Loving, caring, committed and powerful teachers and community. I love you Fairy Congress!!!!!"
