In Balance Yoga was founded in December of 2009 by Becky McDaniel. The last seven and a half years in this space have been so good to us! In Balance Yoga will keep a reduced summer schedule in the new location between July 5th and Labor Day with a fuller Fall schedule picking up post Labor Day through December.
Highlights of the new summer reduced schedule offered July 5 - September 4:
1. Hot Yoga every morning, Mon. through Sun., 60 minutes, NEW TIME: 9:15 - 10:15 am
2. Additional Evening Class: Mon. - Thurs., Flow & Basic Flow alternating, 5:45 - 6:45 pm
3. 4:30, 6:00 and 7:45 pm hot / warm classes almost daily
4. Sat. 4:00 pm flow moving to Sat. mornings, 10:00 - 11:15 am
5. Sun. 10:00 am flow moving to Sun. mornings, 9:15 - 10:45 am
6. New Rotating Community/Donations class scheduled every Sat., 4:30 - 5:30 pm
7. A gentle or beginner friendly non-heated class offered almost everyday at 12:00 and 5:45 pm
8. 50 minute class offered Tues. - Thurs. at noon for those that are fitting class into their lunch break

Yoga and Meditation day-long event in Montgomery County: there will be classes that run all day under a large tent by the creek, meditation workshops in other areas, food in the studio, and artisans and healers in the back yard.

Instill SWVA is a non-profit deeply committed to bringing mindfulness to southwest VA. So far they are involved with teaching seventh graders in Montgomery & Floyd counties. |Project OM Merchandise Supports Komen Foundation!|
This raw, vegan dessert is easy to make and full of nutrients. It's delicious - tastes like a brownie and it has no added sugar!
1 1/2 cups raw cashews
2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, melted
5 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups pitted dates (about 30 dates)
1/4 cup coconut flakes
1. Add the cashews to a food processor. Pulse a few times to break down, then process for about 30 seconds.
2. Process again and stream in the coconut oil. Continue to process until the cashews begin to look smooth, like cashew butter.
3. Add the cocoa powder, dates, salt, and cinnamon. Process until the dates are well incorporated—there shouldn’t be any large pieces. This will take about one or two minutes.
4. Add the coconut flakes and pulse a few times to cut the chips into small pieces.
5. Press the mix into an 8x8 inch pan and place in the freezer to firm for about 20 minutes.
6. Store these brownie in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
