Cici's Corner
Welcome to our June Newsletter!
In this edition, you will find some exciting new updates and opportunities available to you. Learn about how you can continue to be engaged in the YP4 program, and check out the opportunities to meet up and reconnect with fellow YP4 alumni across the country!
In accordance with our values of justice and diversity, we celebrate June as LGBTQ Pride Month. LGBTQ folks have been on the frontlines of every fight for justice, and are courageously showing up and leading today’s progressive movements. Their fight for inclusion and dignity in the face of bigotry and discrimination are an inspiration to us all.
I am feeling especially grateful for our robust, thoughtful, and extremely insightful YP4 Alumni family. As we continue to, together, forge a path towards a more inclusive, diverse, and united progressive movement, know that your YP4 family is with you in solidarity, always.
As we have mentioned in previous communications, over the past couple of weeks, YP4, along with numerous Alumni have worked to figure out ways that we can address the racially insensitive comments made by PFAWF’s founder and board member Norman Lear on a podcast. After hosting a network-wide conference call, and hearing from all of you, I am bringing your suggestions and proposals to PFAWF’s newly created Racial Justice Task Force, which you can read more about here.
As always, if you would like to further discuss this situation, or have any questions, you can reach out to me.
