Business First Cribs for Kids Story
I’m very excited to report that Buffalo Business First is working on a story about our Cribs for Kids Program. Business First is profiling programs that received Spotlight on Population Health (SOPHi) awards from the P2 of Western New York.  The awards recognize efforts to improve and protect population health. Our Cribs for Kids Program was honored with a SOPHi award in October under the Healthy Women, Infants and Children category. Since we began our Cribs for Kids Program in February of 2016, we have provided 122 Pack ’n Play portable cribs and educated 152 new parents and caregivers about the importance of creating a safe sleep environment for infants.
EMS Collaborative Protocols/Skills Evaluations
I wanted to remind all EMS agency leaders that the new EMS Collaborative Protocols take effect Saturday, July 1, 2017. All EMS providers need to be in compliance with the new protocol by July 1 in order to maintain their online privileges and continue serving as EMS providers. Please visit Collaborative Protocol Rollout for more information on the steps EMS providers need to take to comply with the protocol. Also, all EMS providers are required to submit their annual skills sheets to STEMS no later than June 30 in order to maintain their credentialing and online privileges. If you have any questions about the new protocols or EMS Skills evaluations, please contact Abbe, the STEMS Program Coordinator, at stems@sthcs.org or at (716) 372-0614.
