OCFS Site Visit
I’m very happy to report that we received a very positive site visit report from Anne O’Neil, Program Manager for the Office of Children and Family Services Child Fatality Review Team Program. Anne conducted a site visit during our May 5 quarterly Child Health and Safety Team meeting. She met with members of participating agencies and observed our ongoing efforts to improve child safety and protect children in our community. In her site-visit report, Anne noted the team’s plan to add signage to new canoe and kayak launches along the Allegheny and Genesee rivers to ensure children wear personal flotation devices and the ongoing success of our Cribs for Kids Program. It’s gratifying that Anne and her partners at the Office of Children and Family Services recognize the efforts of STHCS and its partner agencies to protect child health and wellness.
EMS Recruitment Video
Footage was shot this week for our upcoming EMS Everyday Heroes Recruitment and Retention videos. EMS providers from different agencies were videotaped by a professional videographer who has also worked for MercyFlight and other area agencies. The EMS providers will share why they decided to become EMTs, what being an EMS provider means to them and what they hope to accomplish as an EMS provider. The goal is to convince viewers that volunteering for their local EMS agencies would benefit them as well as their community. We are producing both a 30-second video and a 60-second video. The videos will be formatted for use across traditional and social medial platforms. The videos will explain the benefits of becoming an EMS provider and explain how viewers can reach out to the local EMS agency and volunteer themselves. I want to thank Lt. Tim Richardson of the City of Olean Fire Department, Geoffrey Broadbent, an EMT with the St. Bonaventure University MERT and STEMS Program Coordinator Abbe Kahm for volunteering to participate in the video shoot.
