Forensic Interviewing Grant
I’m very happy to report that we’ve been awarded a grant from the New York State Office of Victim Services to support Forensic Interviewing at the Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center and the CAC Satellite in Wellsville. This grant will enable us to hire two FTE forensic interviewers to provide FI services to children who present at the center as having been physically or sexually abused or neglected. In addition to gathering the evidence necessary to hold offenders accountable, the forensic interviewers will also help identify additional services a child may need to recover from the trauma of abuse and begin the healing process. I want to thank the Office of Victim Services for trusting us with this important program. I also want to thank the members of the MDT Council who encouraged us to apply for this opportunity and helped us craft our grant application. It’s wonderful to be part of such a caring community that works together to protect and serve children.
NCA Subaward Grant
I also wanted to share that we applied for and received a National Children’s Alliance Sub-award grant through the New York State Children’s Alliance (NYSCA) to help us support case management at the Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center. This is critical support because the case manager is responsible for coordinating with the center’s multidisciplinary team (MDT) and community-based service providers to link clients to the services and resources they need while ensuring the care provided is safe, effective, client-centered and timely. I want to thank the National Children’s Alliance and NYSCA for helping support our Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center.
