All Kids Dental Opens 
A new pediatric dentistry office has opened off of Godwin Blvd., in the fast-growing central business development district.  All Kids Dental is located at 2999 Corporate Lane, Suite B-8.  Dr. Joe Wilson and his team provide comprehensive dental services to children aged 17 and under. They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  
Bickford Senior Living Opens New Assisted Living - Memory Care Branch in Suffolk
Bickford of Suffolk, the city's newest Assisted Living - Memory care community, is now moving in new residents at 6860 Harbour View Blvd.  The newly constructed $13.3 million, 38,600 SF facility includes living, dining and recreation areas designed for people to age in place.   Bickford of Suffolk features 60 apartments, of which 44 are designed for Assisted Living care and the remaining are dedicated for specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. 

Boogie's Soul Food Opens Downtown
Downtown Suffolk's newest eatery has opened at 156 W. Washington Street.  Boogie's Soul Food recently opened their doors to serve traditional country-style soul-food entrees and side dishes.  All desserts are made in-house and many use family recipes. They are open for lunch and dinner every day except Monday.  
Suffolk Business wins 757 Pitch Competition
Congratulations to NASONI, a Suffolk-based start-up, who won this year's 757 Pitch contest!  The bi-monthly competition, sponsored by Old Dominion University's Center for Enterprise Innovation, is a means to showcase new, high-growth business ideas. 7 minutes of pitch time is given to each of 5 teams. The winner is awarded $757 and access to the resources of the ODU CEI. Congratulations to Steve Waddell of NASONI and his winning innovative faucet design. 
 Taste of Suffolk 2017 - September 9th
Mark your calendars! Taste of Suffolk is planned this year for Saturday, September 9th, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., in historic Downtown Suffolk.  Come out to Suffolk's annual downtown street festival for tasty samples from a variety of local, independently-owned restaurants.  Also enjoy kids' activities, live music, contests and games, crafts, vendors and a selection of local beer. 
Business Spotlight - R. E. Michel
R. E. Michel (pronounced like "Michael") has been operating in Suffolk Industrial Park since 2011. The 30,000 SF facility manages wholesale distribution and sales of heating and air conditioning and refrigeration parts and supplies for professional contractors, the U.S. government, school systems and other large users. The family-owned company was formed in 1935 and is headquartered in Maryland with over 300 branches across the country.
