Looking at the City's comprehensive plan

The Asheville Chamber's Board of Directors and Leadership Circle businesses heard from Todd Okolichany Tuesday with an overview of the City's comprehensive plan.

The new plan called "Living Asheville, A Comprehensive Plan for Our Future" will be used by the City to guide its long-term development. More than a year in the making, the comprehensive plan process has included data gathering and community input and is now in its last phases. Asheville Chamber leadership has participated in forums and provided input at various stages.

Among the themes in the plan, Okolichany highlighted "Resilient Economy" and "Responsible Regionalism" as being potentially of particular interest to the business community. "We want to make sure the City is good partner for our shared values," Okolichany said.

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee will be meeting in September to to review and prioritize the plan strategies. Current timeline has the plan being presented to Council in early 2018.
