Quote of the Month
“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

― Martin Luther King Jr.

Fellow Spotlight
This month's Featured Fellow is Valeria Fuentes from Baltimore, Maryland!

When asked what social justice work she is doing in her  community she stated:

"I have [also] been really passionate about addressing the needs of the Latinx community both on my campus and in Baltimore City.

This year as part of my thesis I organized a 9 hour art and music festival called SOMOS Latinx Art and Culture Festival where the funding raised was used towards a donation for a scholarship fund I created for a local nonprofit.

The event itself was the culmination of what I was hoping to achieve in my time at MICA as an undergraduate student."

Alumni Spotlight

Kyle Jumper Smith
YP4' 16

"The YP4 fellowship strengthened my voice and gave me the correct skills to be confident and organized with my ideas. Before joining the fellowship, I had so many plans that I wanted to implement, but they were not organized or fully researched.

YP4 gave me the time and space to organize, outline, research my ideas into a blueprint, and then pushed me to execute and tell people about my vision in a more organized and confident way."
