|FROM WILMA: The Staff Spotlight this week is on Nancy O’Dell. Nancy came to work at Reems Creek Nursery in 1993 and primarily worked with Gerri Neville growing veggie starts, annuals, and perennials. For several years she also worked other departments of the Garden Center like retail, hardgoods, and perennials. During winter months, she helped out in the Landscape and Maintenance Departments.|
Nancy grew up in the country near Salisbury, NC. As an only child she spent time riding her horse and exploring the woods where one of her favorite plants was sassafras. Extended family lived close by and summers were spent with them shucking corn, breaking beans, and helping with canning.
Nancy is now part of the production team at our Farm location. In addition to lots of transplanting, propagating, and caring for plants, she transports many truckloads of plants from the Farm to the Garden Center. Nancy is a certified herbalist and has a business, Geowild Apothecary, that features over 100 herbal extracts.

|Zenobia pulverulenta 'Woodlanders Blue'|
$24.99 – 3 gal.
A staff favorite! Zenobia is a gorgeous blue-foliaged and semi-evergreen shrub – NATIVE to the coastal Carolinas and the southern US. The foliage color is rare in the garden, especially for broadleaf shrubs - so ‘Woodlanders Blue’ makes an excellent
color and textural addition to the garden. Zenobia has lily-of-the-valley shaped blooms in spring (but the flowers are larger). Also called Dusty Zenobia.
Plant in full to part sun in acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Enjoys boggy soil. 2-4’ tall x 3-4’ wide. Zone 5-9. Limit 3 per customer while supplies last thru Thursday, Sept. 28.
