Blues News You Can Use!
11 Days....

Ok, so probably many of you are saying... "what?", "huh?", "11 days till what?" Hopefully there are a few readers who know what 11 days refers to....if not, let me share. The 2018 International Blues Challenge begins in 11 days on January 16, 2018! Rooms in downtown Memphis are likely at a premium...but if you have never been and you get a tickle to give it
a go it's not too late! Tickets for the whole event (Jan. 16-20) can be ordered
HERE: www.blues.org If you want to come
for just one day of competition wrist bands are sold on the street that get you in to
all the competition venues for that night. Tickets for finals are sold through the Orpheum box office if available after
event passes are sold. If you have never been, this should be on your "Blues Bucket List." Me? I have been going since 2007 and will be in my 10th year as a volunteer in 2018. IBC is the highlight of my entire year!
In other news, please check out the articles below and mark your calendar for January 27. Our IBC competitors will be back with all their Beale Street stories and sharing their competitive style to help us raise funds to replenish our IBC act sponsorship account. Also the Ozark Blues Society annual meeting and board office elections are just about a month away. We welcome all at this meeting and members are encouraged to come vote.
The event calendar definitely
is light this week but there is still fun to be had here in Northwest Arkansas. So get out when you can and enjoy the live music events in our area.

Keep me posted about events and shows in our area and ideas of what you would like to see in this Newsletter.
