 A Matter of Balance
I’m pleased to report that we’ll be hosting A Matter of Balance classes at the STHCS Training Center beginning on January 22. A Matter of Balance training is an evidence-based program for older adult community members who are at risk of falling or have a fear of falling. We already have eight people preregistered for the classes. Participants will learn about simple steps they can take to reduce their risk of falling. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. for four weeks. I want to thank Ardent Solutions for partnering with us to provide this training for our community. Those who are interested should contact Melissa Biddle at Ardent Solutions at 585-592-5223 ext. 1015 or mbiddle@ardentnetwork.org to preregister by Wednesday, January 17.
Millennium Collaborative Care
I’m excited that we will be hosting the Millennium Collaborative Care Southern Tier Project Advisory Committee meeting at STHCS this afternoon. Al Hammonds, Executive Director at Millennium Collaborative Care, will be providing an update on governance and deliverables during the meeting. Mary O’Leary, Cattaraugus County Director of Community Services, will be presenting on best practice initiatives. As we all work to meet the diverse health care needs of our communities, I’m glad that we have this opportunity to collaborate to improve the patient care experience and population health.
