Elias.T.Hoth :: O RHESUS NEGATIVE
Elias.T.Hoth gives us a new blood offering with his 11th original musical invention O Rhesus Negative. This latest album brings us a deeper insight into this hard ass mean kickin, blood spittin rocker. This new album, O Rhesus Negative, is named after is a very rare and unusual blood type (a bit like the man himself), whether or not this new album will make you anemic, or is more likely to make you see red, can only be decided from the listening.
However, the new album does bring us a fresh musical infusion of re-oxygenated lyrical hemoglobin, and it’s fair to say we now appeared to have stabilized the patient with the completion of a new and highly successful O Rhesus Negative album transfusion.

The album brings us no less than 4 rock, 2 blues and 5 very intimate personal ballads. Firstly, diehard fans will not be disappointed as the heavier sound tracks, which will certainly raise blood pressures deliver some bristling brand new visceral, classic hothic rock 'n’ roll anthems, possibly some of the most impressive to date.  ...Find more about this artist and release

The 1950's Blues & Rock n' Roll Is Back! Carolyn Gaines Debut Album Beware Of My Dog
By Scott Yanow, Jazz Journalist/Historian
We must ask Big Mama Thornton, Elvis Presley, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Blind Boy Fuller, David Jr. Kimbrough, Big Jay McNeely, Buddy Guy, The Rolling Stones, Grady Gaines Jr.: how did blues vocalist Carolyn Gaines produce a straight, re-framed Blues-Rock n’ Roll CD called Beware Of My Dog on Polka Dot Records.

On Beware Of My Dog, Ms. Gaines has revealed herself to be an important new blues singer. Beware Of My Dog, blues author, blues teacher, Dr. Gaines: shows that Carolyn Gaines is both a student of the blues and a singer who does not copy her predecessors.

Title track “Beware Of My Dog” has a connection to Big Mama Thornton’s and Elvis Presley's “Hound Dog” and a 1950s blues vibe. Gaines’ voice sounds unlike anyone else. Big Jay McNeely’s features his distorted tone and fits the song quite well. The lowdown one-chord blues “I’m Your Cat, Baby,” has Carolyn Gaines displaying a menacing voice that is a similar to Howlin’ Wolf’s 1961 “Back Door Man,” with its growls and rasps.

Little Steven joins Blues Foundation’s Hall of Fame inductees and Blues Music Awards winners
The sounds, and the stars, of the blues rule Memphis when Blues Music Week kicks off on May 8
(MEMPHIS, TN) — There has never been a Blues Music Week quite like one that will be happening this May, and it all starts and ends with Little Steven Van Zandt. Back in January, Little Steven served as a finals judge for the International Blues Challenge, and came away so impressed with The Blues Foundation’s work to preserve blues heritage and celebrate blues recording and performance that he offered to return as the host of the Blues Music Awards in order to help bring even greater awareness to the significance of this music form. He will launch Blues Music Week with a special Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul show at Memphis’ Minglewood Hall on Tuesday, May 8. Then, on Thursday, May 10, he’ll emcee the biggest awards show in Blues at the Cook Convention Center, where he will be joined on stage by such big-name award presenters as Steve Miller, Joe Louis Walker, Janiva Magness, Tito Jackson, Candi Staton, and Tony Joe White.
