Now don't get me wrong....I love the amazing green colors that spring brings. But, as the one who push mows and trims my hilly 2/3 acre lot, honestly at some point it doesn't hurt my feelings if the grass growth slows down. Sure, green is good...better than brown grass, but is mowing in near 100 degree heat ever anybody's idea of fun? I also hear from musician friends the disappointment when fluctuating spring temperatures and persistent rain railroads outdoor gigs so I am sure they are happier when summer weather begins to rule.
Of course good green grass is also
a better alternative to the dry, dry, dry early summer burn bans. This year
the green around NWA seemed to release a greater number of Fourth
of July pyrotechnic wizards than recent years. So, now we start into the long
haul toward end of summer fall colors. Any bets on how long our green
summer will last?
