It happened in 2012...then again in 2015....and doesn't cross our path again until 2026. Usually we run into it twice a year, but got breaks in 2014 and 2016 where we only did it once. Confused yet? The "it" is Friday the 13th. This year we have the most common occurrence of two times and we already had the first time in April, so just get through today and you can take the rest of the year off, lol! Though most people treat it as just another day, for some it is a bit of a distraction or concern. What I suggest
is, to find something fun and turn your focus on that. Why not start your search for fun by visiting our calendar below
and finding some great music.
Also below don't miss the follow up article to last Sunday's Walter Trout concert in Bentonville. What an awesome event!

Walter Trout
Knocks It Out of the Park!
|
Last Sunday, July 8th, blues lovers in Northwest Arkansas got a chance to enjoy a musical legend, Walter Trout! Thank you to Meteor Guitar Gallery for hosting this event and allowing Ozark Blues Society to partner with you!
During the evening, Walter and his band were joined by his son, John Trout, for several songs. Clearly the apple does not fall far from the tree! Young John played lead along with his dad and you could see how proud Walter was of his son. What an amazing duo. His son was fantastic. Walter brought lots of energy to the stage. He told a number of stories about bands he has played with, including a funny story about John Lee Hooker.
Walter also talked seriously about his liver transplant and the struggle to get back on his feet. He shared how he had to learn to walk,
talk, and play guitar again.
Ozark Blues Society wishes all the best to Walter Trout and his band!
Thanks for OBS Board members, Bill Baird (reporting) and Bruce Barton (photos) for contributing to this article. |
