Bureau of EMS Director Greenberg Tours STHCS

Myself and STEMS Coordinator Alicia Broadbent would like to thank Ryan Greenberg, Director of the NYS Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems (BEMSTS), and Edward L. Mager, Regional EMS Program Manager, for taking time out of their busy schedule on Tuesday to visit our Training Center. We gave them a tour the new Walter L. Reisner Memorial Ambulance Simulator and shared with them the capabilities of our distance-learning facilities, which can connect our Training Center via video conference not only to our current three satellite sites in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties, but also to other facilities across the United States. We really enjoyed the conversation and look forward to working together on future projects.
STHCS Distributes Prescription Pill Disposal Units at ‘StrOlean’

Many of the locals at the latest StrOlean event downtown last Friday stopped by our booth for educational materials on STHCS’ various health care programs and initiatives. Most notably, we distributed over 20 free DisposeRX prescription medication deactivation and disposal packets, which are courtesy of an AmerisourceBergen Foundation grant. These units dissolve and deactivate prescription medications for safe disposal, eliminating the risk of overdose, theft or drug diversion. We’re pleased to provide community education and a helpful tool to fight the opioid epidemic and drug crimes. If you would like to distribute these at an upcoming event, at work or within your community, please contact us at (716) 372-0614.
