Bearfootin' Bears Auction: This past October 20th, the Hendersonville Bearfootin' downtown bears were auctioned to benefit 20 local charities. Our Autism bear, "Benjamin" was auctioned and won for St. Gerard House. You will soon see Benjamin at our main entrance. Special thanks to Mast General Store for sponsoring "Benjamin" and for all of their support! Check out the Times News article about the event. 
 
Feed the Need Participants Receive Paycheck: This past month, our Feed the Need Art participants received payment for their artwork that was sold at the Apple Festival and other events. We are so proud of them and their hard work.Thank you for your support and for making a difference! 

 
Happy Halloween Celebrations at The Grotto: Our students and staff wish you a Happy Halloween. The Grotto I and II programs celebrated with dancing, games, a special snack and trick or treating. See more pictures here!

CAREGIVER CONFERENCE 
Caring for the Caregiver Across the Lifespan is a family caregiver training conference. Caregivers will learn practical skills and strategies to take care of yourself while providing care to your love one. This will be a full day of training in which caregivers can choose from many helpful workshops based on your needs.
 
The conference will take place on November 3rd at the Mission Health/AB Tech Conference Center in Asheville at 340 Victoria Road.

St. Gerard House is now hiring Behavior Technicians! 
 
St. Gerard House is seeking entry-level, positive and enthusiastic Behavior Technicians looking to provide direct teaching and behavioral support to individuals with unique learning needs. The Behavior Technician will work 1:1 with a child with special needs under the close supervision and guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. We are looking for punctual and reliable people who are creative, animated, and can make learning fun while sticking to procedures.
 

Bachelor's Degree in Early Education, Psychology, or related field or Associate's Degree and experience working with children with disabilities.
