This year’s Peter Tosh Music Festival 2018 kicks off on Wednesday, October 17 with a meet-and-greet session entitled "Pepperseed: A Tribute to Peter Tosh" at the Tosh Museum at Pulse HQ in Kingston.
On Thursday, October 18, the official start of the festival is the Peter Tosh Awards Presentation and Reception at Pulse Investment Ltd, 38a Trafalgar Road in Kingston.
Among the awards that will be presented are the
"Stepping Razor Award" "Legalize It Award"
"Equal Rights Award" and "Bush Doctor Award".
Friday October 19 (Peter Tosh Birthday)
is the Peter Tosh
Symposium at the University of the West Indies.
Among the speakers arehistorian Dr. Dennis Howard CEO of TVJ LTD; former Finance Minister Dr. Omar Davies, rising reggae star Jah 9, and others.
Saturday, October 20th is the star-studded CONCERT with Luciano, Etana, Bushman, Jesse Royal, Jah Cure, Dre Tosh, Jah 9, and young rising star Jahbar I and History Man.
The artists will be backed by the powerful 809 Band consisting of Mikey Fletcher on bass, Paul Kastic on drums, Christopher Birch and Robbie Lyn on keyboards, Bopee and Gibby on guitars, Congo Billy on percussions, and a four-man horn section led by Everol Wray.
Tosh’s lead guitarist, Donald Kinsey, who played with Peter Tosh and Bob Marley & The Wailers, and now plays with the Wailers Band, will be Special Guest on the show.
Sunday, October 21 - The festival will climax with an excursion down to Bluefields, Westmoreland near Negril, Jamaica, to the PeterTosh Mausoleum, for a
huge all-day Jam Session.
The PTMF is a joint venture staged by and between
Pulse Investment LTD., The Peter Tosh Foundation and Estate, and Marlene Brown.
