Cia has been reinventing the architecture of glass for over 30 years. After training at the California College of the Arts, Cia later attended Pilchuck to study under the renowned glass maestro Pino Signoretto. Cia was invited to Corning to take a master goblet making class with Bill Gudenrath in 2015. Showing her diverse skill set she took a sculpting class with Martin Janecky at Urban Glass, in 2016. She has worked alongside noted glass masters Elodie Holmes and Lucy Lyon, and currently resides at Liquid Light Glass, owned by Elodie.
"The combination of graphite and glass seemed to be opposing materials. Glass has the unique ability to invite us into the inner experience. Graphite takes up space as a solid presence. The complexity of the relationship lets me communicate the separation between mind and body. It has opened up new levels of seeing and brought a connection between these abstract forms. Both hold their own in space and have a great companionship. This series is letting me break apart forms to create a story. This reflects a growth in my work where I can express more complex ideas," shares Cia.

Various Works by Dylan Martinez (l-r) Dancer 1 (hot sculpted glass), Vases, and Millochelli (cut and fused glass)
Dylan's art often examines the boundaries of human perception. His work challenges the viewer's expectations through the manipulation of light, space, and the optical properties of glass. While influenced by traditional techniques in glass making, he constantly strives to discover novel approaches to exploit the material and create a lens to view the world afresh.
Dylan Martinez is originally from Stillwater, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor's of Science in broad field science at The University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2008. In 2017, he received his MFA in glass, at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Dylan Martinez
Dylan is now running his own studio in White Salmon, WA in the scenic Columbia River Gorge where he continues to explore and push the boundaries of glass. His artwork has earned several awards of recognition and has been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally.
