|Dear friends, welcome to 2019!|
Come and join us for worship on Sunday mornings on January. On January 6th, we’ll celebrate Three Kings Day, when the wise men brought gifts to the baby Jesus. Their offerings were a foreshadowing of the future that Jesus would live out. Come and hear about it.
Throughout the rest of January, we’ll look at the life of Jesus thorough the lens of service. Whether you are in the church for worship service or with the children in Sunday School in the Parish Hall, everyone will learn and experience what it was like to be Jesus!
On January 20th, we will welcome ChildVoice. You can learn more about this amazing outreach of our Missions Committee at https://childvoice.org Here is a quote from one of their graduates.
“Many years have passed since I escaped life as a child soldier. Though I will carry that part of my life always, it no longer defines me. I am a proud Ugandan woman, wife, mother, friend, entrepreneur, counselor, survivor and child of God.”
- Grace, Graduate of ChildVoice’s Lukome Center
On January 27th we’ll gather as a congregation after worship for our ANNUAL MEETING followed by fellowship. Please come so that we can hear every voice. Your thoughts and feedback are so important for the life of our church. There are a great many things taking place this month, so read on!
Let’s celebrate this month together. Call or stop by the church office to say hello. I offer you every blessing in this new year and I pray for each one to know more fully the love of God that binds us together,
|Pastor Marilyn is in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please call the church to make an appointment.|
January Sunday School Schedule
6 Sunday school at 10:00am
13 Sunday school at 10:00am
20 Sunday school at 10:00am
27 No Sunday school
Our children are amazing! They shared the good news of Jesus's birth in a new and exciting way. Watching and listening to our children during our Christmas Pageant was a great way to end 2018. We hope that everyone enjoyed creating their Christmas Nativity Bracelet as we shared the good news!
As we move forward in the new year, our Sunday school will begin focusing on service. They will brainstorm where there is a need, then create a plan to provide the support. Our goal is to teach our children how to identify a need, how to serve others by using their talents, and how to continue encouraging and teaching others how to help. We will study how Jesus taught his disciples how to serve.
"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet." John 13:14 NIV
First Church in Hartland's Sunday School program is for children aged 4+. We Welcome everyone and you can join at any time during the school year (Sept. - May).
- NO Sunday School program is scheduled for the last Sunday of every month, and some holiday weekends. Please check the CE Calendar or the Calendar link (listed below in the newsletter) for all dates.
All children will attend worship with their parents at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. After the Children's Sermon they will be brought across the street to the Parish Hall by the teachers and have a Sunday school lesson. Please note that for some special events we meet at 9:00am.
A Nursery Room is available, in the back of the Sanctuary, for infants through kindergarten ages. This room has a monitor so parents can watch the service and also take care of their children whom they feel are unable to sit through the worship service.
In the unlikely event of inclement weather when church is cancelled, please check WFSB.com "Closings and Delays".

On behalf of First Church, this will be our second year offering monetary support for this amazing organization. Their efforts assisting women and children effected by human trafficking in areas like Uganda are outstanding. I hope you will all join us in learning more about their cause.
