ADCI/DLI One Act Finals 2018
Congratulations to Michael Johnston and the Festival Committee who extended a warm welcome to all at the recent One Act Finals in Kilmuckridge, Co Wexford.  As ever, we all enjoyed a wonderful weekend of drama and socialising ,and are already looking forward to the 2019 Finals in St Mary's Theatre, Rossmore, hosted by West Cork Drama Festival!

Moat Club, Naas - All Ireland Open One Act Winners & Gunpowder Productions - Confined Winners 2018
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Adjudicator Imelda McDonagh awarded first place in the Open Competition to the Moat Club, Naas. Director John Lennon also picked up the Adjudicator's Award for Direction, and Brian McCarthy won Best Performance as Yossi in What's Left of the Flag by Jimmy Murphy.

Palace Players, Cork came second with Where's This Malabar by Liam Howard, and third place went to Bradán Players, Leixlip with Aubade by Mark Yeates.   
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 
 
Gunpowder Productions, Cork won the Confined with Wittgenstein in the West by Stephen Toomey.

New Ross Drama Workshop came second with Specter by Don Nigro, and Bailieborough DG were third with Smile Handsome by Liz O'Hanlon.  
DLI Summer School 2019
Plans for Summer School 2019 are well advanced, and our new team of Willie O’Brien, Ollie Kenny, Mary J Egan and Christine O’Brien are looking forward to welcoming old and new participants to our courses.  Huge thanks are of course due to our long-standing Summer School Director, Anne Mekitarian, who is stepping down from her role. 
 
We are offering the usual range of courses, catering for all levels of experience in acting and directing, as well as a class in Set Design with Maree Kearns.  A course in Movement is also on the agenda.
There will be seven courses, and tutors confirmed so far along with Maree are Kevin O’Connor, Geoff O’Keeffe, Peter McAllister and Conall Morrison. 
 
We will have further information on Summer School 2019 programme and course content in January.
Fees will remain at 2018 rates: Residential: DLI Members €450
