Advance Directive Training
Everyone should have an advance directive when it comes to medical care. Friends and family must know your wishes if you’re physically or mentally unable to advocate for yourself. This gives your family members peace of mind.
To ensure that everyone understands advance directives, we have scheduled a series Advance Directive Trainings. We are working with DecideWNY, a coalition for Advance Care Planning in Western New York. Beginning in April, community trainings are being scheduled at STHCS’ Training Center and Universal Primary Care has agreed to have their staff trained. The sessions will discuss the importance of putting last wishes in writing and how to guide loved ones through a difficult decision-making process. If you or your agency are interested in these opportunities, email me at
Happy New Year!
As 2018 comes to a close and we begin to looking toward the New Year, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you. Without our staff, member agencies and community partners, nothing that we accomplished would have been possible. We are honored to be able to work with each and every one of you.
We want to continue to build on the successful collaboration we've established over the years. As we continue to face challenges and barriers to achieving better health, Southern Tier Health Care System will always be open to new opportunities to collaborate and support projects that seek transformational change to improve the health and wellness of the rural communities we serve. We believe by working together, we can overcome those barriers and create healthier communities for ourselves and our children. Thank you again for everything you do for our communities, and Happy New Year!
