We Love Pets, Just Like You..
Happy February!
Happy February Everyone!
Can you believe it? January has come and gone! Valentine's Day is on the way. Celebrate with those you love (whether two legged or four). Carpe diem for tomorrow is not promised.
I just celebrated 34 glorious years of marriage to my wonderful guy that I met and married in just 3 months time. Yep, love at first sight does exist!
We've been through a lot over the years (richer & poorer, sickness & health doesn't even begin to cover it). We've weathered it well and I can honestly say "I love him more than ever" and I know he feels the same. I can only hope our children are as lucky in love as we have been. Looking forward to 34 more fabulous years! It could happen!
We've got a lot going on in this newsletter so be sure to scroll all the way down so you don't miss a thing. Especially our positive thought for the month!
Thank you again for your continued patronage. We love serving you!

What are your plans for 2019? Post on our FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM pages to share your thoughts, #RESOLVE  I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Love is in the air, so why not share it with those you care about? I'm talking about your pets of course. They give us so much love, support, laughter and more every day. Valentine's day is a great day to do something special just for them.
Do something they love to do. Does your dog love to go for walks? Take them some place new. Make it an adventure. Explore a new park. Take a hike. Is playing ball his favorite thing? Do it! Does your cat like to play? Visit your local pet store and pick up a few new teasers or toys. Lasers are great for cats (not so much for dogs, they can create obsessive behaviors).

Get them a special Treat. Visit a local Barkery (bakery for dogs) Such as ThreeDog Bakery Visit them here   You'll find yummy treats fit for a king! All natural Three Dog Bakery sells biscuits, cookies, cakes, and meals, and while the company boasts that the food is good enough for humans to eat, it's intended for dogs. ... And the executives say they can vouch for their products because they've eaten them. "We eat every treat before we give it to a dog," said Islinger.

Arrange a Play Date! Does your dog have a special friend? Invite them over. Have special treats. Dress them up and have a photo shoot!
Don't have a pet to celebrate with?  ADOPT! Visit a local shelter or rescue organization to find your furry valentine. The Gwinnett Humane Society is a great place to start visit them HERE...
Having a pet to celebrate with makes Valentine's day just a little sweeter!

ADOPT ROBIN -Looking for love & her forever home.
Robin is a beautiful 2 year old Lab/Boxer mix looking for her forever home. She was surrendered by her family simply because they did not know how to train a large dog. She was over excited and too boisterous.
Well, fast forward three weeks and she has been in training at Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care and is doing very well. She is learning commands such as sit, down, place, come, drop it, and potty on command.
Robin will be going to her new foster home soon to await her forever home. If you like big dogs, giving belly rubs and getting kisses in return. Robin is your girl. While she is sweet as can be, she would do best with an owner who will continue to reinforce the structure and training she has begun. You can view VIDEOS OF ROBIN and her progress on our INSTAGRAM or FACEBOOK pages.
If you are interested in giving Robin a home, simply click on one of her photos and you will be taken to her page on Gwinnett Humane Society's petfinder. There you can inquire about or put in an application for Robin.

Good Dog! Spotlight: Pet of the Month

 Meet DeeGee!
This is DG! He is one of our regular clients. A big sweet Maine Coon mix with a lot to say! He is an only child and is spoiled rotten by his dad! He loves his feather toy and laser pointer, but usually prefers to curl up on the couch with Jana or Aidan (his favorite pet sitters).
The Maine Coon is a big lug. He has a muscular, big-boned body and weighs 9 to 18 pounds. He loves his family but isn’t demanding of attention. He’ll follow you around and show an interest in what you’re doing, and if you’d like to give him some lap time, well, he’s all in favor of that, too. This is one of those cats who gets along with everyone, including dogs and other cats. He enjoys playing fetch and is willing to learn to walk on a leash, making him a great choice for anyone who travels frequently and would like to bring a feline companion along!
When In Doubt, Dogs Work It Out
Dog’s don’t live in a vacuum. They are constantly learning about their environment and about us. They are watching and deciphering what they think we are trying to communicate to them, even though we may be unaware that we even ARE communicating to them! When unclear about what we are saying to them (and let’s face it, we usually use WAY more words than we need) they “listen” to our body language and tone of our voice. Cues, cues and more cues!

Sitter Spotlight: Calli Gaston

Calli Gaston started out as a dog training student of Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care.  She has a large mix breed dog named Scout that she needed some help training. Calli used her new training skills to teach Scout good manners and is now putting those skills to use while dog walking and pet sitting for Good Dog!
Originally from Stone mountain, Georgia Calli has a passion for animals. She is driven and passionate about what she does and gives everything 100%. She is currently in college and is studying psychology. She works two jobs, one as a behavioral therapist for children with autism, as well as this one :)
