Glass Art by Wes Hunting

Creativity is the driving force: Being able to “make,” not necessarily knowing where creativity will take us. This is what has driven Wes Hunting over 30 plus years of working with glass. His education in glass started at Kent State University in a program that brought Wes in contact with well-known glass artists of the day (1977-1979). His next stop was at Penland School of Crafts with an assistant scholarship; then onto Venice/Murano to experience the Italian glass scene. On his return, he started Hunting Studio Glass, in Chicago. The birth of his son, Wesley Justin, in 1987 resulted in lots of change: purpose, focus, detail and coloration that emerged, all in a new location (Princeton, WI). Now, they work as a team, striving to take the work to a new level of intensity: Expression by painting with molten glass and a dimension that cannot be duplicated by any other material.
