Scorpio Full Moon – May 18th, 2019
Piercing through the Veils
“Didn’t I tell you not to be satisfied with the veil of this world?”
(Rumi)

“Leave the door open for the unknown, the door into the dark. That’s where the most important things come from, where you yourself came from, and where you will go.”

“The process of transformation consists mostly of decay.”
(Rebecca Solnit)

Beneath the peaceful appearance of the soil, a mysterious process is unfolding, as seeds die, cracking open to leave a way to new life forms.
There is no in-between, in this hidden, dark and mysterious land. When a threshold is crossed, the door is forever shut closed, disintegrating behind.
This irrevocable and somehow ruthless process of change is symbolized by the sign of Scorpio, where the intense and passionate Moon will be as she`ll oppose the serene and placid Sun, grazing in the fields of Taurus.

If you imagine living life with the awareness that every threshold you cross, every choice you make feels like a question of life and death, you may get a taste of the essence of Scorpio. No wonder it is animated by intensity, by passions that may turn into obsessions, in a never-ending journey towards the depths of experiences or the heights of power, or to some far away land Scorpios feel in their gut. Change may at times be a complete revolution as one life is left behind and gone forever. Old forms collapse; old ways of being are dead, what was known collapse in a perpetual change. It takes time for this sign to let go, or loose control, for the transformation is drastic and life altering.

Likewise, this Full Moon speaks of an intense time where all those scorpionic themes burst into the uncomfortable light of consciousness, and out of the more familiar darkness, which is the natural habitat of this sign.
With a Scorpio Full Moon emotions run wild, perhaps impetuous like sudden waves from the depths of the unconscious. You may remember to be mindful and pause, for Scorpio themes, such as money, relationships and sex, power, control, passions and betrays, s are light rods and triggers for many of us humans.

This Full Moon may feel like a quick journey down in the basement of your home, uncovering deep loves and hatred, desires, resentments and shame, and the gamut of emotions that we may or may not like to experience but that propel us into new land of self-discovery.

What was hidden is revealed for Scorpio Full Moonlight paint the dark night of shiny silver shades, the ghost no longer hiding in obscurity.
And these ghosts might be outside or within ourselves, hunting us with demands, we may no longer ignore. And if we turn a friendly and open ear, we may perhaps find that the ghost was simply a deep yearning for something we had ignored too long and that may turn into a reliable and friendly presence.

This Full Moon may come with a surprise, with Venus meeting Uranus in Taurus around the 16/17/18 and triggering 0 Leo, the point of January eclipse. While the Sun and Mercury towards the end of Taurus seek comfort, security, and pleasure with their practical approaches, Scorpio pushes for transformation, for discovering burning desires and secrets. The Full Moon is in a flowing aspect to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, which provides a down-to-earth approach and stability. Pluto, ruler of Scorpio and of the underworld as well as of private investigators, psychologist and researchers, might support in the quest for explorations of those dark corners, helping in shedding light on to real motivations, circumstances, and relationships.
Until the Moon change signs in Gemini, a few hours after the full Moon, there will be no planets in Air signs, suggesting that the time is right to feel and be with what is and allow for this process to unfold at least until the following days when the Sun will also move into Gemini, sign of air that brings perspective and ideas.

I leave it to the words of Rumi to inspire and guide us as we explore the basements of our house and make space for all that wish to come forward under the transformative and powerful energy of this Scorpio Full Moon.

The Guest House
This being human is a guesthouse.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
Because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Rumi
