St. Gerard House News
Celebrating the Special Olympics
SGH is so proud of our Grotto I and Grotto II students who participated in the Special Olympics at East Henderson High on May 3, 2019. After several dates were postponed due to rain, these Olympians finally got to strut their stuff, showing the crowd how much they practiced for their events and races! Check out the St. Gerard House Facebook page for a photo album of all the fun!
United Way's Day of Caring
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped our Feed The Need program get ready for a great growing season! The St. Gerard House community garden is looking idyllic. Let's watch things grow together.

May Crowning
Participants from SGH's Grotto II program had a beautiful May Crowning ceremony on May 20 in the Feed the Need Garden. Everyone helped adorn the Virgin Mary with flowers to honor her. For more images of this great event, click on the image below.

Thank you to Catholic Charities
The Diocese of Charlotte has awarded $3,000 to St. Gerard House for our group education room. A smart board will be purchased with the funding.
Malachi's Playground - Groundbreaking
Malachi Siltzer brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew him. A former Immaculata School student, Malachi passed away in 2016. The playground, to be built in his memory, is funded thanks to public contributions and will include equipment for kids with special needs. For more information, read about Malachi's Playground.
Here is a digital rendering of the playground will look like!
