Congratulations to District Directors in the LMEA Elections.
Sharon Stephenson has been re-elected as representative for District V.
Michele DesLattes has been elected as representative for District VIII.
Congratulations to Lee Hicks and the Fontainebleau Jazz Ensemble.
The Fontainebleau High School Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Lee Hicks has been selected to perform at the 2019 Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference.
Congratulations to the 2019 LMEA Hall of Fame Inductees.
The 2019 inductees are Roselyn Fournier, Johnette Parker LeBlanc, and Scotty Walker.

Changes to All-State Band (and Orchestra Winds) audition music and procedures were announced in the Band Division Chairman's article in the February issue of the Louisiana Musician and in the Winter LMEA Newsletter. The submission deadline for clinic sessions at the 2019 LMEA Professional Development Conference is June 10, 2019. Please click on the following link for access to the electronic submission of proposals.

Agenda Items from the May 2019 LMEA Board of Directors Meetings
Minutes from the May 2019 Board meeting will be reviewed and approved at the October 2019 Board meeting. Approved minutes are then posted to the LMEA website. The following items were included in the agenda of the May 2019 meeting:
Adjudication forms, Louisiana Arts Legislation, changing “Comments Only” procedure in the Handbook, Adjudicator Certification, Administrator of the Year Nominees, feasibility of establishing a system to identify and recognize groups as Louisiana Honors Ensembles, membership fee structure, research of larger venues for State Conference, and restructure of audition procedure for All-State to include the use of recorded and/or Skype auditions.

1st Round Audition selection for 2019 will be "Richte Mich, Gott" by Mendelssohn.
2nd Round Audition selection for 2019 will be "Dolcemente Dormiva" by Monteverdi.
