CEO Update
Clean Audit Presented at Board Meeting
Our Board of Directors held its regular quarterly meeting Tuesday. Ed Bysiek, CPA presented this year’s external fiscal audit to the Board. I’d like to thank Mr. Bysiek for analyzing our books and rendering a clean opinion of our financial operations. I also thank Colleen Ross, our Fiscal Coordinator, for assisting with the audit and for working so diligently throughout the year to ensure our accounts are in perfect order. Another strong audit keeps STHCS in a great position to seek grant funding and other kinds of support.

I’d like to thank each of our Board members again for so graciously making time to meet. The Board offers expertise from multiple perspectives to guide our many rural health causes.
The Future of Safe Kids
We’re ready to begin crafting the future of our Safe Kids Southern Tier New York coalition. Today we’ll debrief coalition members on the findings from focus groups and individual interviews with parents and caregivers across Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. I’d like to thank the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York (HFWCNY) for granting us the seed money to coordinate this planning phase. It allowed our former Child Health & Safety Team (CHST) to smoothly slide under Safe Kids Worldwide membership to build programming appropriate to our communities.

Also, on Thursday, Alicia and I met with the Safe Kids Erie coalition. There we discussed initiatives and goals specific to our areas and ways our teams could collaborate in the future.
