STHCS Celebrates StrOlean
Staff here at STHCS enjoyed meeting and interacting with community members at the latest StrOlean street festival in downtown Olean last Friday. We again set up a booth outside our 150 N. Union St. offices to highlight all of our various programs and services to the community. We offered a child-safety trivia game to promote our new Safe Kids Southern Tier New York program. We also gave out more safe prescription-drug disposal packets courtesy of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, as well as Files of Life and some treats for the children.

I’d like to once again thank the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce for organizing these events. We’re looking forward to the next one. It’s great to get to know the people we serve!
NYS of Health Insurance Navigation Program
I’d like to take the time this week to recognize the hard work of our two great health insurance navigators, Corrie Malone and Toni Cottone.

These two work tirelessly to help area residents to secure affordable health insurance through our NYS of Health Insurance Navigation services. Collectively, Corrie and Toni have enrolled or assisted thousands of local residents in quality health insurance plans, which can be a very complicated process. Helping people enroll in health insurance is a key part of our rural health mission.

I also thank Healthy Community Alliance (HCA) and Universal Primary Care (UPC) for enhancing this mission with additional insurance-navigation subcontracts.
