Don't Miss "5B" Documentary Screening on Oct. 2
Just in time for BLUE RIDGPRIDE, WNCAP and the Grail Moviehouse will present the documentary 5B from Sep. 27 through Oct. 3.
A special screening on Wednesday, October 2 will feature a star-studded panel discussion. A portion of proceeds from all screenings will benefit WNCAP, but special $20 tickets on October 2 will provide even more resources for HIV Prevention & Care in our local community.
5B is an award-winning documentary about activist nurses in the first-ever AIDS ward in San Francisco. This inspiring film demonstrates the power of ordinary people to display extraordinary compassion in the midst of intense stigma and fear.
The panel discussion will be moderated by WLOS anchor Frank Kracher, who worked in San Francisco in the mid 1980s.
WLOS anchor Frank Kracher, seen here serving as Dining Out For Life Ambassador, will moderate the panel discussion on Oct. 2.
On the panel will be Wilma Pomerantz and Barbara Bell, two longtime WNCAP supporters, and Chris Nidek, of WNC Community Health Services (WNCCHS). All three women served as nurses in the early days of the AIDS crisis. Professor Lori Horvitz of UNCA will also speak about the social impact of cinema.
For more information about WNCAP's screening of 5B, please contact Michael at mpoandl@wncap.org or call (828) 252-7489 ext. 313.

Mingle with WNCAP Staff & Board TONIGHT at UpCountry Brewing
TONIGHT, Thursday, Sep. 19, WNCAP staff and board members will gather at UpCountry Brewing from 5:30pm-7:30pm to celebrate the WNC community that sustains our work. Join us!
Every Thursday of this month, UpCountry Brewing will debut a special pint glass uniquely decorated to represent a facet of WNCAP's mission.
Sales of the pint glasses, as well as proceeds from particular brews, will be donated directly to WNCAP. Pint Nights are a fun way of raising money for a great cause while increasing awareness of HIV Prevention & Care. Come celebrate with us tonight!

Graphic designer and WNCAP Board Member David Guinn, co-owner of the Design One firm in Asheville, designed four unique pint glasses that communicate different aspects of WNCAP's mission.
Want to know what the WNCAP pint glasses look like? Well, you'll have to go to UpCountry Brewing during the month of September to find out...
Pint Nights will take place at both the West Asheville and Brevard UpCountry locations, so be sure to stop by any Thursday in September.
Stop by UpCountry for a few brews, and pick up the commemorative WNCAP pint glass - a new design will debut each week, so be sure to collect them all!
